The collection

The collection has been growing since 1998 and now includes several hundred hours of material. Unique amateur films from private individuals. Initially, Filmkontor placed advertisements in trade journals and newspapers - in the meantime, the whole thing has become a matter of course: film amateurs themselves or their descendants offer Filmkontor private films and often entire film estates. They want to know their cinematic legacy is in good hands. It is particularly important to them that the footage does not end up in archives with a politically dubious background, especially when it comes to the topic of the “Third Reich”. Filmkontor preserves the cinematic legacy of currently 968 film amateurs from Germany, Austria, England, France and the USA. The individual film discounts range from a 3-minute reel to several hours of film material - a lifetime on film.
